Fashion’s Sustainable Future

Fashion’s
Sustainable Future

Just a decade ago eco-friendly fashion meant some shapeless hemp and a pair
of Tevas. Today, designers are rewriting the rules with cool, stylish collections that
just happen to be good for the environment. Meet the names leading the charge.

AMUR

  • The NYC-based brand was born out of the belief that great style should not come at the cost of the environment. This philosophy informs its very name: a mindful use of resources. AMUR, for short.
  • VIBE:
The romantic with a boho spirit.
  • SUSTAINABLE MOVES:
Every style is made from eco-friendly fabrics, including natural, cellulosic and regenerated fibers.
  • MUST-RENT:
Floaty, floral dresses in natural silks.

TOME

  • After a 15-year-long friendship, Aussie design duo Ryan Lobo and Ramon Martin launched their NYC-based brand, now synonymous with powerful, feminine silhouettes.
  • VIBE:
That super-chic lady from Yoga class.
  • SUSTAINABLE MOVES:
The Spring 2019 collection incorporated organic hemp, cotton and linen into the mix.
  • MUST-RENT:
An incredible blue-and-yellow tie-dyed dress— made with natural pigments formulated from temple flowers found throughout India.

REFORMATION

  • After a trip to China, Yael Aflalo discovered the toll that fashion takes on the environment and decided to start a sustainable fashion brand of her own.
  • VIBE:
    That Hollywood cool-girl crowd.
  • SUSTAINABLE MOVES:
Fabrics are recycled from old stock materials and repurposed vintage clothing.
  • MUST-RENT:
Effortless midi dresses that look great on every body type.
