This dress is gorgeous in person -- so sparkly and such a showstopper. I wore it as a bridesmaid in a wedding. Choose your fit based on your bust. I'm a 6 on top and an 8/10 on bottom, and the 6 was a perfect fit. It's very flattering if you are self-conscious about your stomach/hips. If I ever had a swanky event to attend I would rent this again in a heartbeat! 

This dress was incredible! It fit perfect! I wore it to the Air Force ball and I felt great it in - beautiful. I got so many compliments and it felt so glamorous. I normally wear a size 2, but think I"m in a size 4 right now since I just had a baby. So since reading the reviews, and how it runs a little large,  I ordered the 2 and it fit like a glove. It was perfect. I wore 4 inch heels cause it was a bit long and it was perfect. So glad I ordered it! And the zipper wasn't that difficult at all.

The zipper is a little tricky but other than that it's a fabulous dress.


I ordered a 4 and a 6, the size 6R fit PERFECTLY. It was so beautiful,not heavy at all, not too long, just perfect! I wore this to Winter Formal which is a high school dance and it fit great to the occasion. I recommend it to anyone who wants to feel like a princess on their special day. I would definitely wear it again, and I can't wait to order my next dress. 

I ordered an 8R and 6R as I usually am right in between sizes. The 6R was a little tight in the bust area which made it harder to zip. PROS: looks amazing in person and pictures, glistens in the sunlight, comfortable, flowy so hides any problem areas. CONS: alittle itchy under my arms because of the sequins, hard to zip!. Used it for my engagement photo shoot and used the pic for my save the date card. Everyone told me that we looked so elegant and like movie stars! Overall absolutely loved the dress! Definitely using RTR again! They were great

I wore this dress for our engagement pictures because I was looking for something that gave my photos a "wow" factor and I certainly think I achieved that with this dress. It photographed extraordinarily well; even the photographer kept gushing over how much he loved the dress! I initially had ordered a petite size because I kept reading reviews about HOW LONG the dress was (and I did not want to wear heels or tall heels with the dress), however, the petite hit about at my ankles so it was just a little short to wear. I was worried the regular would be too long but it ended up being a great length for me to wear with short heels. The band around the waist may affect the size if you are a curvy gal like me, so you may want to get a size up as your alternate size. Great customer service with RTR, they got me my alternate size just in time for my photographs. I HIGHLY recommend RTR and this dress. 

The dress is simply stunning! It is incredibly formal so I would only rent this if it's an extremely formal affair you're attending. I am smaller up top and a little wider at the hips and butt and this dress was very flattering. It doesn't hug  your hips but it's form-fitting up top. I am 5'3 and weigh around 135lbs. My only complaint was that it was a little too long even in my 3 3/4" heels but I made it work. I would definitely recommend this dress and Rent the Runway!

I got the dress right on time. It was just as beautiful as pictured. And it was so easy to send back with the pre labeled envelopes. I had a great time and was definitely the belle of the ball. 


I apologize for not responding to anyone's questions! The dress was definitely too long when I took off my shoes. I wore black heels but I considered a pair that was a dark red, almost black color. (A velvety blue or nude might also be nice!) There is no silver in this dress, it's gold all the way through. Very luxurious!

Hi Kelsie! I would recommend a 2-3 inch heel if you are 5'3" with a regular length gown! 

i just rented this dress and was wondering what color shoes you wore???

I absolutely loved wearing this dress!! I went to a Marine Corps ball and I felt like I had a gorgeous look that was different from what others were wearing. The dress fit almost perfectly and was very flattering. (I say almost perfectly because I don't have the biggest chest in the world and so it was a little loose at the top. Nothing a pushup bra couldn't handle!) My only complaint is that the zipper was really hard to work with. Also, it was a little long. I had some fairly high heels so that helped. All in all, it was lovely and i thoroughly enjoyed wearing it!

Pros:
-unique
-beautiful
-flattering fit (i feel like this would go well with anyone's figure. very comfortable)
-got LOADS of compliments on it

Cons:
-the zipper was REALLY difficult. I would not recommend this dress if you don't have someone to help you zip it. there was no possible way i could've zipped it myself. it's not that it was catching the fabric, the zipper was just really finicky. (i lubed up both sides with the tiniest bit of bar soap and that seemed to help a lot. still couldn't have zipped it alone, though.)
-this dress is pretty long so make sure you have some high, comfortable heels. 


i would like to wear this gown to prom but had problems with a dress dragging the ground and getting stepped on last year. I am also 5' 9" did the dress drag at all in the back for you or just hit the ground?

Hi Shelby - the dress was actually pretty short even though it was listed as a long (6L).  I had to wear my shortest heels so that it didn't look funny.  It dragged perhaps just a little bit in the back but not enough where anyone was stepping on it.

Hi Courtney, this dress runs large in the bust and is mostly fitted at the top. We recommend sizing down for you back up! 

I am 5'9" and rented the 6L for Philadelphia's Charity Ball held on the day after Thanksgiving.  It was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL dress and I have never received so many compliments on a formal gown before (and I have been to many events).  I did have to wear a bra as the "built-in bra" top was pretty non-existent but this wasn't a problem at all.  The only problem I have to say is to echo what a lot of other people already stated - the zipper is HORRIBLE.  It took multiple tries, 2 people and at least a half hour to make it zip up all the way.  Make sure you don't try and zip it up with a nicely manicured hand because your thumbnails will be chipped, dented and split afterward.  Once the dress was zipped completely it fit great.  Also, the long is not long at all.  As I stated earlier, I am 5'9" and was expecting to be able to wear heels that were a few inches in height, based on other reviews.  Unfortunately, I could only get away with a heel height of about 1".  By design, the dress is shorter in the front and longer in the back so maybe they are basing the "long" off the back.  Overall, even with the zipper and shorter hemline I would still rent this dress again and recommend it to anyone that wants to feel AND LOOK like a million dollars!

This dress fit beautifully. It sparkled so much, and it was perfect for my senior sorority formal! I would definitely rent this dress again and probably will! I got compliments all night and still do when people see pictures!

This dress runs true to size, I was heavier when I took this picture, but I loved how flattering the overall fit was and how it accentuated my best feature (bust) and minimized my problem area (tummy). I felt majestic and everyone loved my dress overall 

This was a fabulous prom dress. Super eye-catching with a very forgiving cut. The sequins didn't scratch my arms at all and looked great, especially when I walked or danced. The rippling effect is beautiful! The sizing mistake was my fault. I typically wear a 6 or an 8 in jeans, depending on how stretchy they are, and a size small in tops. 6-8 is my normal dress size. However, I am a true hourglass -- I have a booty, a larger bust, but a small waist.  For this dress, only the 6 was available, and I was terrified it would be too small. It was the opposite problem, and ended up being just slightly too big. Because it centered around my waist and not my hips, the 4 probably would have been perfect. However, the 6 worked. I wore a strapless bra, and with 4 inch heels the length was perfect, just a bit above brushing the ground (I'm 5'5). And yes, the zipper is just as much of a hassle has everyone says. It took my mom and sister a good 4 or 5 minutes to get it up. But it's worth it! 

I rented this for a winter wedding in London, close to NYE. I wanted some serious sparkle and this dress definitely delivered. I ended up going with the 8L over the 6L due to the fit from the waist up. The dress was plenty long enough on my 5'11" frame, but due to my broader back and bigger chest size (34D), the 8L ended up zipping much more comfortably. It photographs beautifully and received countless compliments throughout the night!

Great fit! Felt like a celebrity. Beautiful in person. 

This dress definitely will get you some attention and is SO fun. It was also very comfortable, with the exception of it was a little scratchy under the arm pits, but not terrible. Unfortunately, I didn't find it to be terribly flattering for my body and there was a weird pucker in the bust that just wouldn't lay right. 

The dress was of  great quality. The drape looked beautiful and it was actually a bit heavy. Color was gold and shiny, one cannot help being the center of attention. Only con was the zipper was not smooth and it took me a while to zip it up. 

Hard not to feel glamorous. The fabric is gorgeous; i cant imagine the handiwork that went into this all sequins dress. Compliments abound! 

The top part is awkardly cut for a shortwaisted woman. It felt too tight in the bust and made it look flat. Zipper is very hard to pull up; you need help getting into this dress. Runs a little small. 

The petite was perfect for a 5.2 with heels. A big fan of Badgley Mischka dresses from Rent the Runway.

I wore this to the Lyric Opera for my golden birthday (part of why I chose this dress!) and received a lot of compliments--to the point that my brother, who went with, got annoyed. The dress is a beautiful, glittering beacon, so it's not for anyone who doesn't want to stand in the spotlight.

I'm 5'4'', 140lbs, and wear a 34 DDD. As others on here have said, the dress does run long and if you're big busted--like me--a larger size is needed. I'm glad I followed everyone's recommendations to get a petite and a size up! I ordered an 8P and a 10P, and while the length of the 8P was perfect, the 10P fit my bust. 

In 4 inch heels, the hem of the 10P dress still swept the ground a little and took both hands to hold up while walking. Worth it! But: if you're 5'4'' or under, definitely get petite and definitely find some taller shoes.

You really do need another person to help zip you in. The zipper is especially difficult and the clasp is impossible to get by yourself.

Once in, the dress feels WONDERFUL. A little heavy, a little slinky, very smooth on the interior. The sequins are lovely and edge more on the side of champagne than yellow (an excellent gold color). It really lands on elegant and glamorous, when it could easily be gaudy or too trendy. Part of it is the cut, which is super flattering. The sequins do itch a little, but nothing terrible or unbearable.

I was so sad, placing this dress in the UPS box --I didn't want to part with it! It really helped make my birthday special and I felt beautiful in it. Thanks, Rent the Runway. :)

Loved this dress! The only issue was the zipper was super hard to get up because of the fabric. Other than that I would definitely rent this again 

The dress was perfect, it was a little worn on the inside from overuse maybe, but other than that I loved this dress! I got compliments all night, I danced all night and the girls stayed in place. I was a little worried because there is so much cleavage but it was fine, everything stayed in place. I rented the long and the regular and I went with the regular. Great first rental, easy return, would recommend to anyone considering.

The dress was perfect. It is much longer then I expected but other then that I had no issues. 

I rented this for my best friend for her surprise golden birthday. I took a guess on her size. She normally is a 8/10 but busty. The 12 worked, but it's odd sizing. She looked absolutely gorgeous though and the night was a complete success. She was shocked and loved that she had a golden dress to slip into before the party. 

My only issue with the dress was I am very busty and it fit very snug. Overall the gown was a huge hit for my all black masquerade themed 40th! 

I am 5'7" so I usually order a Long from RTW, but this 4L was EXTRA long. I probably could have went with a regular. In my photo, I am wearing 3 inch heels. 

This dress was awesome! I got it as a replacement when RTR didn't have the dress I'd originally ordered. I had my doubts about wearing a strapless dress as my bust is not usually enough to carry them, but the dress had some ribbing to the top portion and it stayed up very well! It was a little longer than I had hoped, but I am only 5'2, and I paired it with three inch heels which helped a little. Overall I absolutely loved the dress and the experience renting from RTR!

I wore this for a vow renewal (mine and my hubby's). I wanted something special but not "bridal white". I ordered a size up from my typical number but in petite after reading reviews of how very long the dress is. I am 5'4" and the petite was still long (I was wanted to wear flat sandals, I still did). It really is so incredibly shiny and eye catching. TONS of compliments - you will be noticed in this dress :) I loved how it looked! The zipper is a capital B though! I was freaking out because I thought I have no backup for my vow renewal and I couldn't get it to zip! My hubby had to yank on it quite a bit to make it zip.
