This dress was incredibly fun to wear. The skirt flows out and has structure to it and it's really heavy! The major con to wearing this was that due to wear and tear from previous renting, the pieces to hold the bodice together was coming apart and was scratching me to death! I used some gaffer tape from the caterers to tape me in because I was in horrible pain from it. Once taped, I was good to go! Sizing is true to size, and order one size down so you get a nice tight fit to form to your body. Loose doesn't look good with this dress and there is plenty of room for hips and bottom since it opens up under the waist - measure for your bust and waist and the rest should fit well.

The 4R was actually my backup dress. The 2R did not fit nicely with my large bust and I couldn't get the back all the way zipped up. The 4R was a little snug but did not affect my comfort in this dress and my girlfriend ended up twinning with me for the night wearing the 2R.

I loved this dress. It was fit and flare and very classy. 

Didn't end up wearing this back up dress to a black tie wedding, but it was gorgeous and a strong contender! Let me tell you about the fabric... It's thick and there's a lot of it, but in a good way. The result is a voluminous skirt that truly gives you that princess ball gown feeling. My only disappointment was that size 8 L long was not long enough for me at 5'-11". I would have had to wear completely flat shoes with the dress. Such a classic dress! 

structure through the bodice of the dress was fantastic - also created the need to go up a size. length worked perfectly with wedges (hidden by the dress but allowed me to keep dancing all night!). was heavy and long enough to keep me warm at a rooftop NYE celebration in Philly. Scoop neck was perfect to pair with a statement necklace. made me feel pulled together without too much fuss. easy and elegant! 

I rented this dress as a second choice for my daughter's Senior Ball at City Hall in San Francisco. It fit like a glove, if she hadn't loved the red Monique Lhuiller so much she'd have gladly worn this. We got a 6R and a 4R- the 4R was perfect. She's 5'8" and 128 lbs. No bra necessary. These two dresses smelled strongly of dry cleaning chemicals and both were not as bright black as a brand new dress would be- it looked like it had been cleaned and pressed a hundred times, but at night, in dim light, this would be beautiful. We went with the red one instead.

Dress was perfect length with 3.5 inch heals. The top is very fitted so I felt comfortable and held together all night and the dress is so easy to dance in because the bottom is loose and flowy. Got so many compliments and the dress was perfect for a formal black tie affair! 

I wore this dress to a a Military ball and I was nervous it was too plain but the dress was amazing! Subtle yet elegant. The material was flattering and light. Only downside was I wore shorter heels and going up and down stairs was hard if you didn't hold the dress up in both hands. Other than that it was perfect. My second rental from RTR and they didn't disappoint. 

Perfect fit, like it was made for me. I was apprehensive because the low back doesn't allow for a bra, but it held me in and boosted me up perfectly. The boning restricts your movement a little- kind of like a corset feel.  The only draw back is the material close up- it looks a little faded and isn't the formal fabric I was expecting. More like a heavy upholstery, but unless you're close up inspecting, it's not noticeable. All in all, I wish I could keep this dress!!

Loved, loved, loved this dress!  I ordered it as a back-up but ended up wearing it over my original first choice.  The event was a very formal black-tie Lyric Opera Gala and the dress was perfect.  The fabric was very thick so it laid very nicely and had a nice flair on the bottom that swished when I walked. :)  I normally wear a size 2 and the 2 was just the right size.  It felt a little tight as I was putting it on, but once my husband helped me zip it up, I realized it was perfect because it was tight enough I didn't have to wear a bra.  The only thing that was unexpected - the fabric has a very matte finish and almost looked a little worn, but I think that goes along with the thick fabric.  I would definitely rent this dress again, and I would even buy it.

The dress fit me like a (leather) glove. It was snug, but in the way it was meant to be--well fitted. The length was perfect with heels (2 1/2"). Be prepared to be complimented all night long!


Great dress! Runs a little small. Usually a size 4 but 6 fit perfect!

Rented this for a black tie work event. It was the perfect amount of dressy and very comfortable. It was a true 2, although I ordered a Long and it was still barely long enough with lower 2.5" high shoes. Im 5'7, so if you are tall and like heels, this probably isn't the dress for you. It can easily be dressed up with additional accessories and jewelry. Material feels very luxe but is comfortable. Will rent again for sure.


I had a backup size 6 which actually fit perfectly, but it looked worn and the skirt was puckered in the front. The 8 was in much better shape and was just loose enough for me to be able to sit down and enjoy dinner. :-)

This dress was amazing. So many compliments. Also, I am always worried about my stomach and this hid it pretty well with the boning. I am 5'6 and really should have gotten the long but it was a replacement dress. I don't normally show off my cleavage but this was perfect, held everything together! 

This was one of my favorite rentals since unstated using RTR.  It is brushed bottom and at first glance, is nothing to write home about.  But when you put it on and have fun with a little her welts, the dress pops.  Got huge compliments.   A must rental.  


This dress was form fitting in the bodice and very flattering - those considering this dress should be aware that there is very little give in the fabric. I could have worn either the 2r or 4r, but I chose to wear the 2r (with 4'' heels) because it was a little more form fitting and gave me a better shape. Also, the hem on the 4r was seriously wonky...  All in all I was very happy with this rental and received tons of compliments. It's really a timeless and elegant silhouette.

This dress as pictured (or even on the hanger) does it no justice.  Once you put this dress on is when you can tell how well it's made.  I usually wear a 10, but wore a 12 as they did not have a 10 on the day I rented.  The top was a bit loose, but I used fashion tape for the straps and sides.  It hugs the curves in all the right places, I did not need to wear a bra because the built in boning is enough to keep the girls in place nicely.  I did wear Spanx, but you really don't need to - the fabric is thick enough to hide any little bumps.  I loved how the bottom of the dress fell and moved when walking/dancing.  It was a tiny bit long on me (I'm 4'11.5 and wore almost 5 inch heels), but it looked great. I just lifted the dress a bit when I danced or walked.  I got a ton of compliments.  I would definitely get accessories (gold or silver) to make the dress stand out a bit more.  
I would rent this dress again in a heart beat!!   

I normally wear a 2, but considering I was 5 1/2 months pregnant I sized up to a 4 and got the 6 for backup.  Unfortunately the zipper on the size 4 would  get stuck halfway so had to wear the 6 which honestly wasn't too bad.. lots of room in the torso area to move around in comfortably!  The straps were a little too long for me so I pinned them onto the bra to hold them in place.  Received so many compliments throughout the night.  The dress came nicely pressed but had a terrible odor! Had to spray it with Febreze and let it hang the night before the event.
